OK did a little searching and it appears the u-joints use the c-clips that are on the inside of the yoke rather than the ones on the end of the cups. Thanks for all the help you guys have been great and I appreciate it.

That is correct on the U-Joint clip, if you have done U-Joints before you will not have any problems. I am glad you got the bearings off without Damage they sure can be a pain. Now that you have put anti seize on them it will be a piece of cake. On my 94 I got were I could change a bearing in less than an hour.

As mentioned above if the bearing is stuck like these mentioned you will NOT get them off with a puller it will pull the bearing apart.

I have done U-Joints but it has always been the ones with the clips on the end of the cups, the ones with the plastic I took to Napa and had them do because I did not have a torch at the time.

It took two 2 ton jacks on the bolt heads, sockets trapped on the other bolt heads and I had to use a 5lbs. sledge on the piece that holds the bearing (cant remember the name of it) where the ball joints are, there is no doubt in my mind that using a sliding hammer would have pulled those bearings apart with as much as it took to get them off.

if your truck has lived all its life i so cal then that would explain why it was so easy. here in the land of sand and salt everything corrodes together it seems.
