How to verify a bad injector

not sure if im jumping the gun or not...recently it seems that the truck starts a little rougher....just at first before i turn the high idle on..then it is smooth... (we have recently had some cold weather)
there is a small poof of white smoke that comes out..only in the morning after sitting all night..not sure if that is common or uncommon...could be a variety of things..the only reason i'm concerned is i have got horrible gas mileage on this tank...i mean..i dropped from 15-16 down to around 10...
who knows..maybe bad gas...i just dont want to go to the dealer and have to pull my juice off..etc..if i dont have to...

Mine has been doing the same for a while now. If I plug it in though the white smoke all but goes away. I think it's normal. I've owned a lot of heavy equipment and big trucks over the years and I don't remember any not doing this in colder weather.

As for the mileage, mine has gone down from the 16's to mid 12's but I attribute that to the winter blend that all of the stations switched to here about a month ago.

One last note, keep an eye on your oil level. If you do have a leaking injector, it will start to look like overfill on your dipstick, not to mention the smell it leaves in your oil. Very distinct.
