One bolt under right side cup holder ruber thing. One bolt under ruber thing in the left cubby that is closest to the dash. If 4x4 -Then you pry it up a little to get you fingers under there to release the boot around the 4x4 shifter. Then there is on more bolt under that boot towards the back of the console. I would assume that if you have 2wd or electronic shift tranfer case that bolt would be under another rubber think in another cubby. Then you just remove the boot around the shifter, then take the 4 bolts out of the shifter, then just pull it out.
here are some pic's of when i did my short throw shifter, and you can see how the shifter is mounted to the trans.
but in short,...
pull the shift boot up, unscrew the shifter stock and remove it.
remove the center console and 4x4 shifter **** & boot if installed [3 screws hold it down, pull the rubbers off to see 2, and one under the 4x shifter boot]
pull back carpet and remove the lower boot [±5 self tapping sheetmetal screws]
then the shifter is held on with the 4 mount screws...
