I know this is dredging up a subject that has been discussed often here but I have a dilema. I am the proud owner of a new '03 H.O. and was trying to remove this ring. I took off all the tubing andnfound what I was lookiing for. I was, however, unable to remove 9it. I had my 2 flat head screw drivers there but couldn't get either one under the lip of the ring long enough or well enough to make any difference. What am I doing wrong? I tried for about 20 minutes in the rain to get it done and finally gave up, was tired of getting wet.

I use a lil eyeglass screw driver. Just gotta have the paitence, it will evenually work

 

Yep just gotta work at it and it will eventually come out. Working in the rain is probably not a good idea due to electrical shock.

 

It's fairly simple nearly common sence u just have to be pointed in the right direction
1.remove the air inlet to the turbo.
2.take 2 screwdrivers and remove the lock ring
3.take the silencer out (thin peace of meatal looks like a reducer)sould come right out if not softly tap with screwdriver)
