How to remove front drive shaft?
How to remove front drive shaft?
Well, the other night I was trying to remove the front driveshaft, but wasn't able to do so, and just run out of time. (In the evening).
I removed all the torx bolts from the front pinion and all 4 bolts from the inside driveshaft (connected to transfer case).
The front dropped off nicely (connected to front axle), but the rear end of it, (connected to the transfer case) just didn't want to come off. All bolts were removed, but it would just hang off of the transfer case.
Gave it a couple of whacks with a mallet, but felt like it was still bolted.
Gave up due to running out of evening, and put all the bolts back in.
Anyone know how that sucker comes off?
Truck is an '07 Mega Cab 4X4 5.9L stock.

Might just be rusted on there pretty good, try some penetrating oil and then wack it with a dead blow...
Mine wasnt that bad when I pulled it on my '05, as soon as the bolts came out if practically fell out.
I dont THINK they would have put alignment dowls on the '07s? but maybe try pulling straight back?
