I would really like to know how much power (hp) can the stock U joints and rear end can handle.

I'm planning of getting the 800 HP kit (with all the goodies and cam) from Diesel Dynamics. They did not mention anything about upgrading the rearend and such. I'm going all out with this upgrade.

If you do the 800HP - I'd budget for all new drivetrain parts and traffic tickets.

 

One thing you don't hear much about here is differentials breaking. They put some H/D rears in these trucks and unless you are drag racing you will probably be fine.. But, at 800 hp you may be our test mule...........
