how long to wait before straight?

how long to wait before straight?
well i pick up my new 06 tomorrow and want to throw a straight exhaust on it for now until i can afford to put a 5" TB on it. how long should i wait and has anyone had problems with this? i have many buddies running straight on their CTD's w/no probs and on my 05's i have straights but did it when they had around 30k on them.
I am new to this board, so cut me some slack. Just be glad i switched from a 6.0 and from TDS.com to here. haha!

i bought my truck back on July 31st. I cut my muffler off the next day with only 5 miles on it. no problems at all and not really all that loud either until u really hammer down on it !!!!!! i say go ahead and do it and get ready to
