How to identify a 2004.5

I am buying a 3500 diesel listed as a 2004. Is there a way to identify if it has the 600 series engine via the serial #?

Look on the drivers side of the valve cover, there will be a sticker telling you if its a 305 or a 325. I'm guessing thats what your asking right?

Easiest way is to check the build date listed on the info label located on the inside of the driver's door. A build date after 01/01/04 is an '04.5. Another way is to check the label on the driver's side of the motor valve cover. An 04.5 model will have 325 hp; an 04 model has 305 hp.

Thanks,
build date is 11/03 so I guess it missed the 600 by a month.
