How good (PSI?) is the in-tank pump on 06?

we did a big line kit on MadHat's other day.

put in a draw straw.

I lost my 04 to a bad lift pump.

I am thinking i could do a GDP kit (like for an 04)
put in a draw straw to eliminate the stock pickup and in tank pump.

would that be worth doing?

was going to put some gauges in my Truck, till we did MadHat's, and i started reading threads about the Fuel PSI gauge bouncing and rattling around.

Been following Cummins for a few years while saving up to buy my truck and know the 2nd gen's had some real fuel pressure issues.
The 06's seem to be pretty good from what I've read but I put a gauge in anyhow. It only has about 8 pounds at an idle.
So far it's not a problem, but at least now I'll be able to tell if I need more pressure.

I think unless you're doing some major work you don't need to upgrade anything, but get a gauge to keep an eye on it. (But I'm deffinately not an expert)

BTW, went to the site you link to, where's the cup light?

Did your truck have a plug there to plug in to?

nah, i tapped off the LEFT cigarette lighter,
that way it has light as long as the key is on,

like if you are setting somewhere with radio on waiting on wife to finish purse shopping, you can find your soda.
