How Do I Know If I Have A 2004.5

I had my trk into the dealer yesterday for some smoke problems. said all it needed was a flash. On the invoice they gave it the TSB 18-007-04
I asked about tsb 18-004-04 (manually adjust rpm's with cruise) and tsb 18-037-04 (fuel economy and console mpg accuracy)
The service advisor said that they do not apply to my truck.
Is there annother way to check? maybe by vin number?

If you have a 2004.5 or newer, the Data Sticker on the Engine Valve Cover will say 325HP. If you have a 2004 it will say either 305 or something a bit lower(cant remember) for the SO. Also look under the truck. A 2004.5 will have a Huge Catalytic Converter foward of the muffler. 2004's do not.

Look on the sticker on the side of the valve cover. There is a square in the center of the sticker labeled model. if it is an ISB 325 it is a 04.5. Also below that should be the HP spec it should also be 325 on a 04.5. The 04 is rated at 315.

Thanks for the reply's I have checked and my truck does have all of that. I'm trying to figure out why the dealer would say those 2 tsb's do not apply to my truck. I did give them reasons/problems why UI was requesting them.
Besides going to another dealer what am I to do?

look at the sticker inside the drivers door, if it was produced from 1-04 up it's an 04.5 flashes usually go by engine serial #

The ability to have the high idle with the cruise control on the auto trans 2004.5 is not a TSB. The truck comes from the factory with that ability it just has to be enabaled by the dealer. I had it done to mine along with the TSB for white smoke on start up and fuel mileage.

Maybe it was just a poor choice of words. It may have been that the truck was produced after those updates were available and they were loaded originally in your truck and therefore it didn't need them.

You should still be able to get the idle up.

And 2003-2004 HO's were 305, not 315, but it was prolly just a typo.
