Do you people actually think that there were just a "few" trucks that this has happened to? You don't really think that they would issue a recall if this has only happened to a couple of people. the problem is with the dash indicator and the linkage to the VB. The dash says it's in park but the parking pin isn't fully engaged. It's really easy to do and we tried it with a 04.5 in a driveway, the dash said park but the truck moved backwards. The problem is Chrysler is too cheap to fix the problem so they just use the horn as a Band-Aid!

But then again I suppose actually learning how to back up without opening the door is totally out of the question! And since I know your going to ask I have a 6sp, I can shift on my own I don't need a computer to do it for me!

Why not just leave in unplugged?? Or does that circuit have some other function?

Thanks

Seatbelt fix does not work on all vehicles (only 1 of the 4 4.5-05's at work) . Its not an unjustified problem, my shifter shows erratic errors in what gear Im in all the time.

plugging it back in holds the wire jumper in place i suppose.. you could get a scotch lock [evil little things eh?] and modify it a bit so 2 wires can cleanly pass through it, then crimp it into the wire pair.. not as pretty a solition, but would work...

i looked at the prints for the door switch, and all you really need to do is cut the door latch switch wire [built into the door latch, not a separate switch in the door jamb].. if you wanted to get fancy, you could run a separate wire to it and cross the wire from it to the rear door or pass door.. so opening the drivers door won't set off the alarm, but opening the pass side or rear door would set it off [and that way your open door will still light the interior light]

crossing the drivers front and rear doors would probably be easiest if you choose that route [just keep the kids from opening the rear doors when backing up]
