how is 15.0 mpg av. at 600+ miles new.

just wondering if I should be really happy... in the city on the highway at 60 - 70 mph I am getting 14.8 - 15.2 avg. mpg.. I have not had the flash... I know the overhead may not be correct but the numbers do look good... guess I will to the hand . cal soon... The hopefully really good thing is if the over head is getting this at 600+ miles... what will it be at 5000 - 7000 miles....

** tried to delete this post... But I don't think u can delete on the form..

With 3000 on the clock, I am getting 17 mix hwy/city it started at 15 hwy/city. I just had it flashed and will let you know the results when I fuel up. My overhead was off 2 - 3 mpg before the flash hopefully it will be closer now.

What is "flashed"?

I just took delivery of a 2500 Quad Cab 4X4 on Thursday. I see that you are talking about "has the engine flashed yet", what does that mean?

I have about 210 miles on it and trying to rack up another 300, so I can tow my camper to the beach this weekend for a fishing tournament. Any advice on the towing side of things?

This is my first domestic vehicle (Toyota all the way before now!) and am very pleased so far. Little paint issue that should get taken care of on Monday, otherwise no complaints and lots of compliments!!

All advice is appreciated.

Just fueled after flash. 300 miles with 95% hwy cc set at 75 - 80 mph. By hand = 16.8 overhead = 16.6. Well that makes the overhead just about on the money BUT I got 17.4 on the last tank (pre flash)

I will keep an eye on it and let you know if it changes.

well - mine can't be right but I hope it is... It just keeps going up... 400 - 600 miles 10 - 15 mpg city/freeway... 600 - 700 miles 15 - 17 mpg freeways and put a tank of additive in... 700 - 900 miles 15 - 20.5 mpg city freeways..

I will have to do the hand cal. to see where I am at .. but heck I really don't want to spoil the numbers... have not flashed...

ckennedy,

If you arr getting that good (when you figure it hand) I don't think I would have the flash done. At least not until more reports are in.

SteveZ,

Don't get me wrong, I am not unhappy with 16.8 at speed, just that I came down from 17.4 (all by hand and always filling to fuel in neck). It was only the first tank after the flash, jury is still out

B32 - I know.. it was just this week (last few days) that my overhead numbers started going up.. that is why I am not to fast to change things until I can double check my mpg.. now if the overhead is way off (way to high) then ... but I don't even want to think negitive about it... anyway.. I will post later on what happens...

ps: I am to tow my old little Nisson truck into the hills today before I sell it tonight.. (Will take some pictures of the tow).....Some used truck sharks that live on the border, Brownsville, are to buy it and it will end up in Mexico...
