230 is the upper limit. 240 you should do something to reduce temps.

The big BUT is where you read your temp from. The hottest readings are with a sensor in the line coming out of the TC. That's where I have mine. I have seen 240 but typically around town no lockup I see 220ish.

ATF+4 operating range is 140-240 degrees. Its at the top but not out of the range nor abnormal for an OE unit.

Here is the valve body. The sensor is on the left pulled out. The right side is the trans connector to the outside world.
