Happened yesterday towing, not going real fast but was into the pedal to pull a hill. Heard a very high pitch squeal, not like a belt slipping but almost sounded like a dog whistle type sound, real high pitch. Today I was running empty and got on it a little and it did it again, RPM over 2000 and boost over 30. Not to the floor but 3/4 way down. Any thoughts?

Check all the turbo hose clamps for tightness and look for any signs of leakage.

If it isnt the i/c boots,look for signs of soot around the ports on the exhaust manifold.These metal sandwich style gskts make a sound like you are describing when leaking

I just got done resolving that exact problem. It was my exhaust manifold gasket on the #6 cylinder (back against the firewall). Changed out all 6 last weekend and the noise is gone. There was a significant chunk of the #6 gasket that was just completely gone.

If you can't see any sooty witness marks around the manifold then try this to confirm a leak: With the engine cold, pour some soapy water onto your exhaust manifold, then start it up and watch for bubbles.

Thanks for the replies. In the morning I am going to out and check all the clamps and manifold gaskets.

Also take a look at the gaskets around yout turbo.
