high egt's help needed
high egt's help needed
was driving to the house from out of town the other day and not noticing anything but when i turned on the ac my edge attitude went off
, i had high exhaust temps >1300*. i turned off ac and it went down to around 900-1000. i pulled over and nothing was restricting air into the intake, turbo looked fine nothing out of place. so i keep going towards the house, but before i got home the temps went back down to normal (around 5-700)
. but this week it has been running high again
. i have been noticing a little (ok a lot of) noice out of my fuel pump lately (replaced 1.5 years ago) so much i think it set my check engine light off a few weeks ago but before the 100 mile drive home it was off and hasnt been on since. no other problems that i know of. can anybody help me figure this high egt's out. sorry about the long post.

Check all other gauge readings also. Boost in particular.
Does coolant temp increase when the egts shoot up?
If the LP is going bad and FP is low, you may have low RP, which can cause high egt. Is power down or any excess smoke when the egts shoot up?
Did the A/C work properly when egts went up?
Also, check the pyro probe and wires; something may be wrong there. 1300* when empty is very high for just cruising. No trailer, heavy load, or hot-rodding when you had the problem? Stock injectors, pump, etc?
