Help W/Turbo Q's....

Will the stock turbo from an 04.5 fit an 06?

If the intake impeller were to explode off of the shaft or basically if the turbo flew apart, would it hurt the engine?

Are broken parts of the turbo able to go thru the intercooler and thru the airhorn into the engine?

Yes, it can hurt the motor, if the parts from teh turbo reach the motor.

Yes, parts are able to go through teh intercooler, the bigger pieces are less likely to, but smaller fragments, yes.

Not sure if the 04.5 will fit the 06.

Why do you want that swap?

It's not that I want to swap. It's that I need a new Turbo. I found a stock turbo for sale and it is from an 04.5. This is my cheapest route at the moment. I don't have the funds to buy a new aftermarket turbo ( believe me I would really like to) just not able to swing it.

I was told today that Holset released the guts for replacement parts for the inside of an 06 turbo. Even buying a new impeller and having the shaft checked for balance and paying to replace the impeller wheel is going to cost.....
