I am going to be doing mine soon, perhaps this weekend. I need to get my amsoil ordered. I will probably end up spending a buttload of money.

you dont fill the aam axles to the fill plug anymore there is a line on the cover about 1/2" below the fill plug, this was causing too many axle seal leaks as per dodge, who knows though just what i know.

I filled mine to where the gear oil ran out and I then put the plug back in it and I've not had a leak any where on my axles for 10,000+ miles.

I thought I read somewhere that overfilling it even slightly is bad. Is that true?

I am under the notion that it is fill to a 1/4 of a inch from the bottom of the drain plug fill hole on the 11.5 differentials.

My owners manual says for 9 1/4" front axles to fill 1/4" below the hole +/- 1/4" (HUH??)
For 11 1/2" rear axle same as above......fill to 1/4" below the hole +/- 1/4"
So, I understand that as either even with the hole up to 1/2" below the hole?

My (SERVICE MANUAL
2006
RAM TRUCK
INCLUDES SRT-10
AND DIESEL) says.......

Front Axle +/- .03 L (1 oz.)
9 1/4 AA 2.2 L (74 oz.)
9 1/4 AA EL 2.0 L (68 oz.)

Rear Axle +/- .03 L (1 oz.)
11 1/2 AA Open 4.2 L (142 oz.)
11 1/2 AA Trac-Rite 4.0 L (135 oz.)
