Help truck is Knocking

So I changed my fuel filter the other day everything went good until I started the truck and let it idle. While idling it was knocking badly so I took it out and drove it hard and added PS, it has since stopped. But I am worried that debri may have gotten into the Injectors. What are the signs of a bad Injector?

Thanks

Generally, they fail staying open & fill the crank case with diesel. Obviously, if you see this, 1) Your oil level will increase, 2) MPG will be significantly lower, and 3) if you have a real oil pressure gauge, you may see oil pressure much lower than normal.

Whatever you do, don't tell them it happened right after you changed the filter 'cause they'll claim you caused the problem, whether you did or not.

1) Physical inspection - cracks, broken parts, etc.
2) Scoring from I & R.
3) Flow test: Blockage, or aftermarket honed injectors (flow more), or may squirt through the crack if missed by physical inspection.

I'm not saying you have aftermarket injectors...just saying they would be able to tell.

I hear you! I've been toying around with the idea of installing a tuner....after driving my buddies truck! What a difference! I just can't bring myself to do it to a motor that has a 100k warranty! Even as much as I HATE dealers!
