HELP QUICK---Fuel Filter Cap Thread problem
My first fuel filter change on my new (used) 06 diesel. The fuel filter cap will not thread back on the canister. What could I possibly be doing wrong? The o-ring is new and the threads just won't catch at all----no cross threading, no any kind of threading. HELP!
Yep, old O-ring is off and the new O-ring isn't even close to seating on the top of the new canister until the cap makes a couple turns after it threads. Been pushing pretty hard but didn't want to force it to cross thread.

I see you already got it but the cap should tread on with light pressure. Did you clip the filter to the top of the cap before you put it back in? My first change I just dropped the new filter in the canister and tried to put the cap back on.
I eventually got it on but it wasn't easy. The second time was a breeze after I found the procedure on this forum
