Question HELP,HELP Questions about Cooper ATR tires

Sorry for another Dumb questions but i just put on Cooper ATR tires size LT 285/70/17 load range D. Well i can say is my truck drives like crap now. I had BFG AT TKO in 315/70/17 and my truck drove and handle great with them. But with my new cooper tires driving down the road lets say around 70 mph and you turn the stearing wheels back and forth real fast. The backend of the truck will sway back and forth. My truck never did that with the BFG on it. so my question for everyone that is runing the Cooper ATR tires. Have you ran into the problem with your truck?? If you did what was the fix for it?

Allso another thing i found weard with my truck. I was doing some wot runs with my truck trying to find out why it is not makeing that much boost anymore. Well when i floored my truck it felt like the whole truck was wanting to twist in half.does anybody have a guess as to the cause of this?? thanks Bobby

The tires probably need a couple of good heat cycles for break in. My Toyo's where a little squirrelly when new but firmed up after about 500 miles.

My tires took 3,000 miles to quit that squirrely crap. It drove me crazy but all is good now. They were Goodyear Silent Armor tires.

I have a set of 285/70/17s on my 2nd gen (they were on my 3rd gen) and they have been great. I only have about 7000k miles on them, but they have done well in the snow and on the highway.

I have had my 315/70/17 ATR's for over 20,000 with no problems. Could it be that the smaller size is making the truck less stable?

No problems here with mine. They do seem to stiffen up more once you get some miles on them. I have well over 32000 on mine and probably have another easy 30,000 left to go on them from the looks of it. I like them a lot. They are amazing in the snow - so good I had them put on dad's truck that I plow with and they've done very well on it as well so far. Quiet on the highway and much cheaper than most tires in that size.

I'll agree with the need to break them in. Mine were odd feeling for the first 1000 or so, but now they're great. WAY better than the BFG's that were on it from the factory.
