Haven't had any troubles with this great truck
Was driving along and all of a sudden I lost power but engine was still running and alot of black smoke out the exhaust. Stopped along side the road and white smoke was now coming out and idle was going up and down without touching pedel. Turned it off and checked everything. Oil ok - water ok no leaks. Started it back up and seems to be running ok now.
What gives anyone have an idea?

its not smoking now and seems to running ok, but only drove about 5 more miles. Will see tonite have to drive about 30 miles on fwy.

 

Mine did the same thing to me on a trip thru idaho last Sept, mine finally got to the point where it would not run, i removed my TST Pmcr and the truck ran fine.
Turned out i had a connection pin or wire in the TST harness go bad, i sent it back to TST and they repaired it and had it back to me i a couple of days, no more problems.

I did turn the box to 0 and 0 just before I turned the engine off. I usually have it set around town here on 4 bottom and 6 top.
Maybe I will take it off and send it in also
Did you send in all the wires also or just the box?
I have a trip planned this next week into wyo from tucson and into calif.

 

take it all off and try it, should be no more problems, send in all of it the problem was in the wiring.

i pulled mine off on the side of intersate 15, np more problem for the next 4000 miles untill i got home, but towing with stock power again sucked.

Thats what I am worried about the towing!!! I will be pulling a 40' flatbed with 3 cars on it!!!
