Help

My brother in law has a 2003 2wd 1 ton dulley 6 speed. The problem he's having is when he gets to 2000 RPMs it falls flat on on it's face. It dose not matter what gear the truck is in it kinda acts like it hits the govenor is the best way I can explain it. Any ideas?

Does he have a fuel pressure gauge? When was the last time he replaced the fuel filter? Any mods? Any codes?

Check for codes:

Does he still have the stock fuel pump that is mounted on the canister? If he has that, that is most likely the problem. When you turn the key on, does the fuel pump sound solid?

The fuel filter was changed about 6000 miles ago. It has a chip on it I'm not sure what brand it is or what the specs are for it. The fuel pump is located behind the fuel filter canister. The chip attaches to the motor like my torque dog. It's fairly small with no adjustment on it. All I know it sure makes that truck run good.

Those lift pumps on the cannister are junk. I'm surprised it didn't quit earlier ! Time for a Airdog or FASS. I bet you have no fuel pressure my good man !

Fuel pump and a guages would help you for sure..

I could bring the stock fuel pump to 0 pressure when I added TST to the stock truck on the low levels. You need a fuel pump and I would recommend guages so you can tell what is happening for the future.

To replace his pump will cost him from 600.00 to 800.00+ If he goes back with the pump that is on there it will cost him 170.00 for the pump + shipping and about 60.00 labor. The only place that I know of is www.genosgaeage.com. I keep a new one under the back seat.
