Heavy Duty U-Joints from the Beginning
Heavy Duty U-Joints from the Beginning
What do you guys think about just changing out the U-joints on a new truck, rather than waiting for them to go out in 30-40K miles, and possibly damaging the carrier bearing? It seems like the DC design is a weak link.
How long do the HD U-joints last?
Who makes them, and where can I get them?

i had spicers put in at 40,000 miles- my back u-joint was shot. front and rear were replaced with spicers which are also greasable. the owner of the drive line shop said they would last at least 100,000 miles- we'll see!
so is it just a crappy ujoint that dodge is installing or is it to small for the aplication? the earier dodges from 89-93 used a much smaller joint and went 150k plus. I know the newer trucks have more power but the old ones were pulling just as much weight . who drives around with the pedal to the floor all the time anyway?
