If I remember right, it follows the inside frame rail to the front. the clips on the cord should be just about in position to where they would plug into frame holes.
After that, it is up to you where you bring it out. The stock location is between the grill and bumper, but I never liked it sitting against the paint. I routed mine around the radiator/intercooler and zip tied it to the passenger side tow hook.

There's also a few nice plug adapters that mount in the bumper to allow easier access to the plug.
Geno's has one that bolts right in:

There are a few others as well in chrome and stainless.
Don't forget to add a timer so it will automatically turn on about 2 hours before you head out each morning.

Hey Timmer.
I put mine in the holes along the frame out to the front and got the bracket from Genos. It is a good setup to use. You can also get a similar bracket and receptacle from any RV parts store, a few dollars less.

I mounted a plug on my rear bumper and ran flexible conduit from the engine to the plug and sealed each end with silicon. I back my truck in, which puts it within 2 feet of the recepticle. It looks nice and you don't have that plug hanging out the front. Just another idea for you.
I put mine up by the air box so that it is under the hood and not covered with snow in the winter. Also I will not forget to unplug it before I back out of the garage, that and the cord is dry when I go to plug it in as wet hands, cords and electricity don't work well together
