Has this happened to anyone? Yesterday I went to start my truck and when I turn the key it jumped into reverse for a second and then back into park, as I was turning over the engine. This all happened very quickly, the engine wasn't running yet, only cranking over. It felt like the truck moved backwards a inch or two then banged back into park, all this on the starter motor.

Yes, there was a recall for it dropping into reverse when in park with the engine running. (they install a back-up beeper) I belive the recall wasn't for jumping into reverse while starting.

Actually, I think the recall was to add the warning system (horn blowing) when the truck was not fully in park with the door open. Sounds like that might have been the case here, although I didn't think the starter would engage if it was not in Park.

I'm sure the door was fully closed, because the engine started and I drove off and no warning light for open doors.
