Hello
Im new to this site and I need some help
My friends truck has a hard time starting(04.5 600 with a 6-speed) and the truck smokes(black) alot when you get on it.
The truck has 130K hard miles on it
He was wondering if its his injectors or something else

Have you tried replacing the fuel filter? Just a couple of days ago my truck was hard starting also(longer crank times then usual). I replaced the fuel filter and it dosen't seem to be an issue anymore.

This is just a suggestion, it could be something far more serious though.

 

yes we have changed it but still the problem goes on

 

i'v also had a problem with hard starting on my 2003. It wouldnt start unless it was plugged in over night or the engine was allready warm from running. Brought my truck in to have it checked out, lift pump and all 6 of my injectors where bad. The diesel mech hasn't told my why they failed yet. I have 56k miles on it.
