Question Grinding 4th gear G56

Usually happens when its cold. It will go into 4th and kinda pop out when I have the clutch half way. Grinds a bit then I can get it back in with clutch in. Its very weird. I dont want to yank hard everytime. 5th gear seems to not slip in as easy too. When its cold, I usually shift at 1500, or when I am in traffic. Normally I shift around 1800.

Any ideas?

when my g56 is cold, below 40*F, i shift at 2300, i dont drive hard, just slowly get upto the 2300, gets the fluid slushing around quicker, seems too work fine for me, after it is all warmed up, during the winter i shift at 1200 and it is smooth as butter.
