Grid Heater
Watch your amps gauge, does it drop well below the 13-14 volt reading, if so I would guess that it is working OK, if not maybe the relay is not working, but I have no idea where it is so check your manual I guess.
Tim its what we call cold morrings but its really just cool
I don't think they are working because the lights don't dim and the amp guage does not move. Are the relays on the driver side by the battery, two of them right?

With no noise in the cab you can hear the relays kick in and out. If the temps in the morning aren't below 55 degrees or so, then the grid heater won't come on. The other night the grid came on and really put a hurt on the brightness of my reverse lights while I was backing up, which really sucked!
The reason I mention "how cold is cold" is because them grid heaters don't come on until you get below a certain temperature. It may not be cold enough yet where you are. As far as hard starting goes, my truck would probably start down to about zero whether I ran the grid heaters or not. You might have some sort of problem other than your grid heater. Can't answer your question about the location of the relays, but one of the experts will any minute.
