Angry Got Safety Recall Q Amp Gauge

Got safety recall done last week and now my stock voltage gauge no longer moves up and down when the grid heaters kick on and off. It use to drop to about 13 volts move to 14 plus back and fourth as the grids kicked in and out. Now since the recall it just shows low voltage 13-13.5 until the grids stop working 3-5 minutes than it goes to about 14.5 volts. I know the grids are working because I hooked my voltage meter to the battery terminals and my meter shows the voltage drops and increases when the grids are kicking in and out but the gauge on the dash doesn't. Has anyone else noticed this?

My '05 doesn't move at all. I'm told that owners were concerned about the fluctuation so they programmed it to ignore the lower voltage.
So, is the voltmeter useless or what?? Oh well I bet they now get the same number of people complaining of the lights dimming intermittantly when the engine is first started cold.

My volt meter use to fluctuate until I downloaded the latest SMARTY updates. No longer does that. Verified that the voltage swings is still there with a digital voltmeter plugged into the cigarette lighter plug.
