Got a Question about CTD's

I want to get a CTD in march..but i am currently over seas and won't be home until close to the end of the yr. If and when i get this truck and has to sit for a while...what do i need to do to it, and how often should it be ran so that the seal and everything don't dry up?

Well you could buy it here in Colorado, I could drive it for you untill you get back and then you could come to colorado and drive it home. And if that does not work for ya, I would say to just diconnect the batteries and if you could have some one run it at least once a month it should be ok. Also if it will be in a garage (concrete floor) I would get the tire mats for it so you don't get flat spots on the tires.

It never hurts to run a stabilizer in there.

Be careful about how you run it "a couple of times a month". Just starting the engine and letting it run for a while could perhaps cause more harm than just letting it sit. Why? Because it will not get up to temperature and just generate acids in the engine. If you are going to run it,then it should be taken on the road and run at normal operating temperature for at least 20 minutes after it reaches operating temperature to burn off all the accumulated acids etc. This will also allow all the other companants a chance to get properly lubed. If the truck is driven as above, then once every 4-6 weeks should be enough to keep it in good shape. The frequency that the truck is driven depends on various factors such as humidity and temps. The higher the humidity, the more frequently it should be driven.
Are there mice where you will be storing it? If so, then you need to take further precautions, but will not get into that yet. Will it be stored indoors or outdoors? All these things make a difference in the actions that are taken to preserve the truck.
