Ok I just got the new software loaded up in my 04.5 DRW CTD HO600 6spd at the dealership. Took them a few minutes only. TOok the truck for a ride and much slower on the bottom end 1-2K rpms. TOpend feels the same. MUCH MUCH MUCH MORE PINGING....NOW too!!! Seems DC took fuel out at the bottom end where we drive it the most to save more gas(diesel).... My truck feels like a 02-03 CTD non-HO now.

not true. There should be no changes in the lower end and it should actually be better. Cummins actually supplies them a little "hot" too. The fuel in the low end is totally controlled by the weakness of the rest of the powertrain to absorb the torque. Cummins could supply the trans with 900 ft-lbs at 1600rpm without changing anything on the engine except the calibration if the torque converter and axles could take it

Are you aware that the 02 is completely different than 03?

 

Which TSB are you referring to?

 

I thought he was talking about the fuel economy fix TSB for early 2004.5 610's.

 

the one that fixs the upper console and gain more miles to the gallon....

my truck now pings more... don't know why!!! Sucks!!! I will get a box to solve this...
