Got my G56.....

I picked up my new Ram Sat. with the new G56 transmission. This was the only new 6-speed they had on the lot.I asked the service mang.about the hold and he said that he was not sure why but that Chrysler will not produce anymore 6-speeds for 05.I love the way it shifts and the new location for reverse but when the truck is at idel I do hear a ratteling sound that goes away when you push the clutch in.I guess we will see what happens. If any of you guys might have a idea what it is please let me know.If anything comes up I'll post it here for any future owners.Thanks.

throw out bearing or pilot bushing? when the clutch is depressed, the bearing is now seeing load, it may be just contacting the fork without the pedal down. mine does it slightly, but is have the 5600

I have a NV5600 and had the transmission replaced (@ 24000 Kms) for the same symptoms you describe. So, don't feel bad. The rattle mine had was quiet sometimes and downright loud others. They tried replacing the clutch disk and checked the throw-out bearing to no avail. There is a chance that your noise is the clutch disk springs. The new tranny is quite as a mouse though.

IMO I would bring it in, especially since there is a known problem with the G56.
