hello,

of late my truck has been shaking like it has the DTs. it started fine in the morning but would have a rough idle while stoped at a stop light. that rough shake is gone but now when i start it up in the AM it cranks hard, blows blue/white smoke and idles rough. once underway it runs fine and the idle is fine. i only get the DTs and blue/white smoke on the first start up of the day in the morning. day time temps are about 68-72 degrees.

i get no codes or CEL.

does this sound like an injector or the grid heater? my oil on the dip stick has not risen and does not smell like diesel fuel. if it is the grid heater would it be covered under the 7 - 70k warranty? i currently have 38k miles on her.

going to the dealer in the morning and want to be able to talk like i have an idea of what is going on.

dave. it may need the white smoke at startup flash. that is probably the 1st thing they'll do.
but its funny it does it with the temp so warm.

 

His is an auto, I thought the flash was only for 6spd's?

My Auto does it, and I haven't taken her in for the flash cuz I understood it to be for the sticks only?

 

oh, cant answer that one. i get my flashes from smarty . no dealer visits for my slightly bombed rig.
