General review

Hey guys, soon i will be getting out of the building business and ill be selling all my stuff...so im going to buy a nice personal truck for once! Can i get a general review of the 3rd gen truck? Any quirks? Problems? Qualms? Cunundrums? i was looking at a 2005 quad cab 4x4 48re SLT. really attractive truck, didnt get to drive it but i will this week

That's the truck that I own. Best thing I did was put a tighter converter in, the stock one slips too much for me. Of course, I traded off my stock tires for 315 TKO's on the way home from the dealership and that contributed to the problem.

So, the automatics are still not great from the factory, they dont like big tires...anything else?

The payload is small on a 4x4 QC LB 2500 (about 1600 lbs). It may be worth it to get a 3500 SRW if you think you will need the extra 900 lbs capacity. You didn't say if you were looking at LB or SB. If you may plow, I would go with the 3500 SRW just so you aren't overloaded and are able to put on a decent plow according to the plow manufacturers websites.

That's all??? . No wonder people still gamble on a 6.0 NO, at least they can haul something in the bed!!

Yeah, the rig im lookin at is a short box. Im done workin for myself soon, selling my business off. This is just going to be a personal vehicle, no plowin, or haulin a big nasty equipment trailer...just a boat tow'r etc!...*mutters* and my new hot rod HAHA
