Now your starting to see the big picture.

2 g56s on a slightly modified puller with a stock charger boxes and a clutch the gears are good it is just the casing that breaks where the bearings ride.

I can respect the concise and non-sarcastic responses by bigd6.6

I can also respect the sarcasm and wit of v8440

My dad pulls a 13K trailer, thats it. I don't think he ever gets it up over 60mph with the trailer? He's not a young gun anymore. He drives his truck for work and pulling his trailer, my other 2 friends are working the lemon law but still are on their 1st tranny. Just many attempts to fix.

That track was super sticky and the sled super heavy, my tires also have a reputation for being parts breakers when the moon and stars line up like that.
I wasnt the only 3rd gen that broke last night.
There were also alot of other diesels that broke.
1100 pounds on the front rack???

Uh, it's the G56 that is JUNK, the NV's are golden, better than golden, they are platnium. You can shift em like this: even hooked to a sled.

Not trying to start another s..t fight, but do these g56 loosen up after some miles

I test drove a 06 dually with the g56, what a awkward feeling tranny, it seemed to lurch into gear, every gear, my 6 speed shifts like a hot knife through butter, same as dads 02 6spd. When they were new, niether of them felt like this, 1000 times better. Prior I had a 97 12valver/nv4500 and it felt great to. Also drove many other manual trucks, none like that g56 though

Ok well I have owned both tranny's and here is my opinion- - - I broke a NV5600 while towing a Ford 250 Powerstroke (auto) backwards in my 01 HO. I guess that means that the NV5600 was a piece of Junk due to the fact that a Ford laid her to rest????????????? The shifting was sloppy compared to the G56, and the 6th Gear was great for the guy or gal that just likes to ride up and down the road. Loaded I would have to be in 5th anyway to keep the truck moving without killing the engine. But with all this said, I still like the 6spd better in all aspects over the Auto's!! The manuals have never left me stranded 800 miles from home in 110deg heat!!

Now my new G56 will handle the same abuse day in and out that the NV5600 would. I can shift faster keeping my momentum up and the better gearing in the tranny lets me run in 6th while going down the interstate at 70mph instead of 60mph in the NV5600. Everyone on here that has this bad taste in there mouth about the G56 will be the same people that will knock the new 6.7L Cummins only because that is not what there Ultimate Truck has in it. Oh and if my truck get put in the shop because of a Tranny Failure atleast I will be on the road in a couple of days instead of a Month or so due to the lack of Parts for the NowVoid5600!! !!!! All you guys have a nice day and quit worrying about other peoples sticks

Yeah, you see when you sled pull you hang weight off the front end of the truck to keep the front tires planted.
That class was an 8500lb class so I was able to hang a bunch of weight. Usually I can hang around 500 in an 8000lb class.

Word on the street is that now the NV5600s are more like unobtainium...

I wouldn't say so because the Ford's just spin while the Cummins yanks them backwards- - - -until the tranny goes!!!! This is all quite funny if you ask me- - - -bunch of stupid decisions made by very competent men that equals disaster to there Trucks, which in turn causes internet scuffles that will never cease!!! I Love DTR !
