G56 Difficulty Engaging Gears

I recently installed a Southbend Con OFE on my 06 G56 truck. I have around 5k miles on the truck since the install. I have had zero issues to date with the new clutch (I also installed the hydraulic upgrade assembly). I have about 10k on the trans since changing out the ATF (went back with Mopar ATF).

Anyways, the past few days, I have had some difficulty getting my truck to go into gear. It shifts just fine when running down the highway. The only time I am having issues getting it into gear is when I'm sitting at a stop and put it into 1, 2, or R.

Do you guys have any idea what could be going on? I have checked for hydraulic leaks and haven't seen anything around the master cylinder or slave. Any ideas? I'm traveling 4 hours from home tomorrow and am just a bit concerned...

Thanks

Mine does the exact same thing, i think it just the nature of the beast with these clutches. I usually just put it in to 4th gear first then it will go right into 1st, 2nd or reverse. It never really went into these gears easy before the clutch but having a different clutch makes it a little more difficult.

I appreciate the response, but I'm not really sure why 5 times? A glitch I hope?!? Anyways, you could be correct about it, but the thing that bothers me is the fact that it has just started doing this. I've never had any issues with engagement before now. Anyone else have some info/ thoughts on this?

Thanks again!

Yeah, sorry dont know why it posted five times, maybe a mod can fix that for me. I agree it is a pain sometimes getting it into a gear mostly when your in traffic ect, but for the most time i have learned to live with it and drive around it the best i can.

Call SBC.

Discuss it with Peter. I've spoken to him a couple of times and he's a wealth of knowledge.

No I haven't called Peter yet. I just noticed it for the first time this morning on the way to work and then noticed it even more on the way home. I just figured I'd post up on here before I called him to see if anyone else has experienced similar issues. I guess right now I'm just seeking some peace of mind for traveling around 4+ hours tomorrow. I plan to call Peter soon regardless. Anyone else have thoughts?

I hope this isn't a common occurence; tomorrow my 06 goes in the shop for an OFE. I'd suspect the slave might back off or the throwout fork might bend. That'd be ugly in Los Angeles traffic.

Have you tried adjusting the pushrod to the master?

Mine was like yours when I just put it in, I called SB and they told me it would get better which it did. Now it's great, hardly notice the difference from the stock clutch as far as the "feel" of it but it'll take the power without slipping.

As a matter of fact, that's what I ended up doing. I talked to Peter on Friday, and he suggested I make the adjustment (I didn't realize it was adjustable). After making a few turns, it feels much better! The jam nut was actually loose so I'm sure that's why it began feeling like that. Back to normal.
