One of the guys from Turbo Diesel Register was buying them and swapping out the older poor shifting NV5600 in several of his trucks. The NV5600 I drove shifted good!

He was explaining how for towing the G56 was more user friendly and better shifting and that he needed to add a body lift because the G56 has a larger girth and wouldn't fit stock.

I think he said the G56 weighed more then the NV5600?

I can't find the link right now but he was buying them from a dealer local to him and I remember they had to do a lot of bending over backwards for him because he is a good customer $$$.

I think the G56's were rebuilt.

The NV5600 are scarce and the G56s may be scooped up as replacements for any failed NV5600s.

i think the g56 is lighter due to the use of aluminum and some other things

My dad tore reverse out of his G56 and the dealer told us that he got one of 2 in the country for a replacement, this was in april of 06 though so maybe there are more floating around now...
