Fuel pump

Fuel pump

Has any body changed fuel pump befor it failed. At 145,000 thinking about 12000 mile trip with camper. Was contemplating changing it befor I go.

If the original pump I would think it wouldn't be a bad idea. I mostly see the pickup screen in tank becoming plugged up which will cause lack of power under loads. With a camper going up steep grades could be issue then. This is the test that I have to run before replacing lift pump.

Yes - replaced mine at 90K just before a planned cross country trip. Put in the stock replacement one from Geno's.
I carry the takeout as a spare.
Taking out the front wheel liner makes it a snap to get to the pump retaining bolts and the fuel line.
