Fuel Pressure?

What should the fuel pressure be with a stock lift pump? I just installed a electric fuel pressure gauge and was wondering if my GDP 2 Micron filter is pulling it down. The sender is located between the filter and Cp3 inlet. It's showing 8-9 psi at idle, accelerating pulls it down to about 6 psi. Haven't had it on the highway so I don't know what it will show at WOT.

You are close to mine - - about 9 1/2 tops. It will change with winter blend - - goes down.

I had about 12 on mine after it was installed but now in the summer I don't see higher than about 7.

I see about 10-11 psi at idle in my 2006. When flooring it it'll go down to 3-4 psi.

Stock mine was 8-10 and would go down 6-8. After adding TST even on 3 I could pull it to 0 with WOT. Added GDP-392 pump with 2-micron kit now have 20lbs idle and it will go down to 16 on WOT.

What if you were to just go to autozone and buy a high pressure/volume pump to splice into the line, they sell lots of fuel injection gasoline car pumps that pump some high pressures, would that work, it would be lots cheaper than a high dollar system.

Sam Turner2,

i have heard stories of old Cummins trucks installing John Deere fuel pumps along the frame rails like that... However, i would be somewhat hesitant to do that. Seems like alot of money running on that...
