fuel pressure???

my 03 with 220k has crap for power. have to floor it to climb most any grade, empty. would never try it with load. even when i ran 3 different downloaders, 3 trannys as well, a stock 05 destroys me. keep hearing about fuel pressure gauage. are they easy to instal? where is the best place to install? and what should my psi be? thanks

yeah fuel pressure guages aren't that hard to install if you get a electric one it is just a sendor to screw into the line somewhere and running wires. your stock pressure should be like 10-15 psi and at wot you really don't want to run below say 4 or 5 psi. i know when i changed out to my walbro 392 lift pump with the bigline kit it made a huge difference at wot running

here is a good write up about the aftermarket lift pumps and what kinda results you recieve. i think it sounds like the problems you have been having.

yeah i would say go down to any auto store and you can buy a cheap pressure gauge and install it under the hood that will let you know what kind of pressure your running at idle. you could even run steel braided hose in to the cab with the guage as a temp setup to see the pressure at wot. my lift pump and bigline kit (tank to CP3) were 378 bucks shipped.
