fuel injectors
fuel injectors
Question to the forum: What is causing these injectors to fail at such low mileage? And does anyone know if dodge has started to address this issue, or found a fix to the problem. My buddy just had his common rail eat up injectors at 80K. I had mine go out at 100K, this in my mind seems to be way to early for a block that is just starting to be broke in. Any comments would be entertained.
I've had to put 9 on my 06'. My best guess is the filtration system they put on these trucks and also the electronics on the 5.9's. Being that they have slowly turned these trucks up over time using the same block.
I have 60K on mine with the 10micron filter,no box, and it's fine. All it would take though is one tank of bad fuel, and I'm done. When I worked for GM, I could remember pulling a set of injectors out of a rough running car, and knock them on my bench, and just watch the dirt or crud just come out . Like everyone else, I just pass by those little ma and pa stations, because you know when the last time those tanks were checked or clean, can't imagine it's too often.
