Fuel filter change

Fuel filter change
It's time to change my fuel filter on my 2006 dodge 5.9 Cummins*. I've never owned a diesel so is there any tricks to this, like bleeding or anything required. It looks like you just screw off the top but I don't know. Any help would be appreciated.

First of all, if you don't say "Cummins" everybody will jump your bones over it.
I don't know the details with the '06, but typically they tell you to remove the old filter, trash it, then install the new filter dry. Don't fill it up with fuel. Once it's installed, crack your bleed screw enough so that fuel and air can come out (or whatever the new trucks have). Then pump on the primer **** or lever until fuel is coming out of the bleed screw. This way there isn't any unfiltered fuel that is fed into your engine. It should take a couple minutes of straight pumping, though.
