Fuel water separator

I have the 2008 SLT 2500 6.7 my fuel in water alert came on ( had the filter changed abour 6 wks ago and was ok till abou 4 days ago ) The sensor wire had fallen off , I put it back on 2 times , off again , is there a snap lock or something that I am missing , is there some little trick to make it stay connected ???
