Fuel Additives
I alternate between a couple of fuel additives. I have herd of people running ATF in their fuel for lubrication , but then again I've heard ATF will gum up injectors... is this true.
Also I'd just like to say this is a great site. I think its awsome to see people helping other people and showing off pics of their nice trucks too.

Yea Jake,
Exactly what Mikey said, ATF is a big no-no in diesel fuel. I'm currently using Power Service Diesel Kleen and Cetane boost that you can get at your local Walmart for around $5.00 for a bottle. I have used Stanadyne Performance Formula in the past on my older trucks and really liked it. I have just started using the Power Service stuff andtime will tell if I like the Power Service stuff over the Stanadyne stuff. The only reason I am running the Power Service stuff is because it's easier for me to get. If I don't like the Power Service stuff. I will be changing back to the Stanadyne. Good luck !

Coobie, and how much water do you find in the fuel from your fuel filter cannister each time you change the filter?

I just started adding 16oz of Power Service Diesel Kleen & Cetane booster to each tank now, so we'll see if that ups my milage or not. I guess it'll be kind of hard to tell though, since my engine isn't fully broken in yet and am getting about 0.5mpg better on each tank already. But for less than $3 per tank, I'm gonna keep adding it. It can't hurt, right?

It also seems to run better when I use it. Scheffer's will stand behind there products as well. One guy I know that uses Schaeffer's has had no problems or lift pump problems on his truck, He usally trades his trucks in when he hits 600k, That has really sold me on it.
I know we hashed this over before, but I thought I'd do an update.
After using straight PS and seeing little change in mpg, I went to ps and mmo mix and saw about 2 mpg increase, but the mixing is a pain in the ***, so I tried straight mmo, with little or no increase.
This trip we started with no additives and ran about 11.3 (13000lb 5er) , about 150 mi., after fuel stop and adding straight lucas additive, mileage went up to 13.3, next 150 mi.
Interesting.
