I've got a 2007 dually with 62,000miles on it. bought it stock with 58,000miles added a 6" lift and 35's with dual stabilizers..now If I hit a manhole cover or a big bump in the road the steering wheel starts shaking left to right for a couple seconds then goes away..after I lifted it I noticed it alittle bit so I uped the tire pressure and it seemed to help at first..but after a few thousand miles its worse..I was told it might be the trackbar. so I order a adjustable pure performance trackbar. It seemed to help alittle but now wondering what my next step should be..anyone else had this problem or have any tips for me??? thanks
I had the same problem, did all kinds of stuff thinking it would fix, dual stabilizers, dual fox stabilizers, track bar, I was told it was cause of the over size tires but then I installed a steering gearbox brace now I can hold my steering wheel with my pinkie. Look at the PSC steering brace they're greatly built smooth and clean welds very proffesional quality and there only like $140-160

Is it a violent shake that scares you half to death??
If its death wobble you will know it but for some reason i get the impression its just steering wheel movement, wich is caused by the tire movement when you hit the bridge connections on the road or small bumps.
Ive experienced death wobble on the 05 and it has stock tire size, after all the cases ive heard of DW can happen to any dodge HD regardless of tire size and lift!

at first it scares the crap out of ya..I had a 06 2500 with 8" lift and 38x15.50 baja claws and I didn't have any trouble out of it...I figured it would of happened more with my other truck.

there is no recall for death wobble. the recall is for earlier model 07.5-newer steering tie rod end and another party (can't remember off my head).
The issue you are experiencing is death wobble but at a reduced level not just a steering wheel movement.
loose steering components, track bar, shocks, tires (sidewall rating), pressures can cause death wobble. There is a bulletin that was released by dodge about death wobble and the first item for the tech to check is the tires load rating. Too many people use a lower rated tire for such a heavy truck. Go over a bump and the problem perpetuates. my truck has been lifted since it had 30 miles on it (over 90k on it now). 37" pro comps for 1.5 years, 40" IROKS for a year and now back to 37" Toyo MT's. NOT once have I had death wobble. I have dual steering stabilizer and a T-Rex steering brace (just added the brace 1.5 months ago).

I had death wobble BAD with my 305 BFGs. Replaced the damper and it helped TONS. Now have 34" Nittos with no trouble. 67,000 miles, had DW since 20,000.
Steering brace makes a LOT of sense. That will be my next upgrade.
Some play is normal in the uppers... Check with Dodge. Search this forum.

Hey, what size rims are you running?
I think a lot of the trouble with my 305 BFG's came from running the stock 8" rim. If you've ever seen DW from the outside, you can see the tire flex and roll on its side as it gets bouncing and twisting.
