In the process of a simple brake job, notice both sides the inner pad is gone, outer pads about 1/8th inch. Try to collapse the caliper with caliper tool and notice one piston is at an angle and wont go in. Remove caliper, blow out piston with some air, and this is what I see.



So I need to replace my calipers, any recommendations? I would assume that I should replace both sides so they are identical? Thanks for any advice.

I got mine from Autozone. The box included all the small hardware pieces I needed, so no need to buy anything else. And, they have a life time warranty.

I also bought the premium Autozone pads; also with a life time warranty. The brakes are much better than stock.

 

I recommend the Autozone Duralast calipers (part C717) because they use a metal internal piston, just as the stock Mopar caliper utilizes. Autozone carries other re-manufactured calipers at different price points, but they use a non metal piston. The bulk of auto parts retailers shops use reman calipers with the non metal piston. I believe Napa also carries a caliper with a metal piston;however, I do not have the part number.

 

Agree on the Autozone's. I did not need to replace my calipers but have heard many good things about them. I did use their premium pads though and I am very impressed.

 

In searching the Autozone and Advanced Auto parts online, I was not able to find any calipers that had metal pistons? They were all listed as having phenolic pistons.
