forgive me for the stupid question

so I am going to be pulling my injectors next week to send off to Don M.

am I going to have to drain the oil during the process at all? the reason I ask is I want to change my oil and go to 5w40 synthetic, but I dont want to change it now, and then have to change it again when I put the new injectors back in.

sorry, I know I should know this, but I dont. thats why you guys are here!laugh]

No you dont have to change your oil when you change the injectors, unless your injectors where leaking? Then i would.

well, the mechanic said that 5 of them failed on the flow test, and said that they were leaking down, but everytime I check the oil, it is never over full.

oh, I am definately going to change it. but I guess that means I will wait till I pull them. I have to drive to the inlaws who have a heated garage. Its -20 with the windchill here, so I wont be able to do it till wednesday. oh well, a couple more days wont kill me.

You can always have an oil analysis done on a sample from your engine, Then there will be no guessing on fuel or other stuff in the oil.
