Flywheel needs replacing @ 34K?
Truck has been in the dealership for multiple trans and clutch related failures(throwout bearingx3, pressure plate). Well the truck acted up again with a very loud schreeching noise when the truck was idleing and you would push the pedle in and out
back to the dealership we went. got the call today, they ordered a new clutch kit, hyd assy when they ripped the old clutch out they found "massive scoring" on the flywheel...so they ordered a new flywheel as well
basically the dealership is putting everything in brand new from the crankshaft back to the transmission
anyways, it is a G56 trans on an 06 dodge with 34K on the clock. all these problems have happened in the last 4K miles. seems odd to me, I rarely pull anything heavier than 6K though I do drive around with a full payload most of the time. I never ride the clutch, i always let it out at stoplights etc...
what would cause so many failures? any ideas? talked to one mechanic outside dodge who said it may be too much inplay on the crankshaft which would be a manufacturer default. but he said that probably was not it considering i would have seen much worse problems early on like blown seals and such.
Im stumped. any techs here wanna take a shot @ this?

ok guys
moral of the story
hold in your clutch when you shut down your truck
my flywheel was scored almost all the way through and glued up something terrible.
apparantly because of some type of torsional spike the SMF does not like
so 2 weeks and a new flywheel/clutch/pressure plate/ setup later and the truck is fine again
