flash #06-053...What is it for?

My buddy and I have the exact same truck, in fact the vin #'s are one off. We both went in for oil changes today. The dealership flashed his truck but not mine. His paperwork stated, "perform fuel pressure sensor tarationality recall." Perform rapid response #06-053. performed rapid response #06-053 flash pcm.

What is all this? Anybody else seen this, and why was only his truck flashed and not mine? Even the engine build dates are the same....of course the service guy was no help.

Any info would be appreciated.

From what the page posted describes, it sounds like DC has finally fixed the P0191 codes which has to do with Fuel Rail Pressure.
IV had that code three times on my 05.
Looks like Ill have to check with the dealer.
The only thing I dislike about having flashes done is they could sneek that one in for the reverse prob without you knowing about it.

I got that flash and it didn't work. I still post up a 0191 from time to time and it disappears after a week or so. I do know the dealer did the flash because I lost my high idle off of the cruise control.

He got a sticker stating the flash number stuck to the cross member up front under the hood...but like I said, he had no complaints and said nothing to the service guy. He also had no codes advising of any issues.

could there have been codes that didnt show other than by their computer?
Oh well, mine didnt get flashed(dont know if that is good or bad). Im just trying to get some answers for him cause hes alittle worried about it.

Yeah, I also think that a trip back to the dealer for an explanation is a must...

gcssr, I also did a search and found that EPA site and like you said, it refered only to the "gasoline" motors.
