p0514 battery temperature rational. I get it in the spring and fall. I usually get it when it suddenly gets colder overnight and open the garage and fire up the truck. The sensor must see a sudden drop in temperature during the starting phase. p0514 = battery and p0071 will be the air temperature rational. get a hand held from Auto zone and reset it or wait a few days and It will go away on it's own.... BTW....I know you just wanted to rub it in our faces that you have a newer truch than us.

Yep I've seen that one before. It happened to me last winter. It turned out to not be a big deal. There was a service bulletin on this exact problem. They reflashed my computer with a updated flash and cured the problem for me. The story I received was the computer cross referances the battery temp sensor with I believe the air intake temp sensor, and they must jive within so many degrees. I was told at that time that a certain number of 06 trucks left the factory with the wrong value downloaded for the allowable temperature difference and that was what caused my light to come on. Whether this is right or not I don't know since yours is doing it and it is a 07.5. One would hope if they got it wrong in 06 and they discovered the problem, that they would have got it right for 07. Either way mine has not done it SO FAR this year. My vote it swing her by the dealer.

Thanks for all the info, talked to the dealer today I have an appointment after christmas. It sounds like it might go out before that though. It did get really cold last night about 5 degrees. It had me scared because I haven't had any issues yet.(fingers crossed). Hopefully not the start of bigger things.

Merry christmas

Mine did it in the fall. Cleared itself and has not returned. *knocks on wood*

Mine is a 5.9 07 and I had it the other day! It's gone already though.
